Listen To Our Stories

In many ways, Hearthstone kids are survivors. An important part of their progress is developing healthy skills and ways of dealing with thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that may be recurrent sources of intense frustration, confusion, and anger. Although they are at varying stages in overcoming tremendous personal challenges, our youth are capable of exhibiting great creativity, thoughtfulness, and sensitivity.

One opportunity to cultivate, harness, and direct their energies in a positive manner resulted in the creation of “Spoken Word from Hearthstone of Minnesota,” a compilation of originally written, recited, and recorded poems by our youth.

Hearthstone has had the opportunity to partner with an area nonprofit organization called SASE: The Write Place, which provided a professional artist/instructor to work with our youth on this project. We believe these poems are a moving testament to the personal growth our youth have experienced. We invite you to click below to hear for yourself their remarkable stories.
